Thirteen-year-old Wells Minahan went to Central Street with his mom Saturday to visit Tails Together, a new animal shelter in Evanston. Minahan didn’t expect to take home free comic books or have a flipbook of him made.
“I’ve never seen a flipbook. It took about a minute to print and cut out,” Minahan said. “And I can’t tell the difference between (it and) a video.”
While visiting the animal shelter, Minahan came across Central Street’s annual Spring’s Alive event, which offered free activities and special offers at participating businesses on the street. From free cake samples at Tag’s Bakery to discounts at boutiques like Notice, community members could enjoy all Central Street has to offer Saturday.
