Adoption Process
Complete an adoption application
Tell us all about you! Your home, your lifestyle, and what you’re looking for in a new best friend.
Meet available pets
Tails Together uses a matchmaking adoption model, which means we’ll use your application to match you with pets in our care that would be a great fit in your family.
Make it official
Once you meet a pet and fall in love, we offer foster-to-adopt periods with full support from Tails Together to ensure it’s a great fit – once you know, we’ll help you make it official. Don’t worry, we’re still here for support if you need it post-adoption!
Adoption Fees
Tails Together is a no-kill shelter and a nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization. Adoption fees are based on the cost to administer vaccinations, medications, microchips, and spay and neuter rescued pets. As a private shelter, Tails Together operates with income provided by adoption fees and donations.
Adoption fees cover: age appropriate vaccinations, deworming, heartworm test (dogs over 6 months), FeLV test (cats), FIV test (cats and kittens six months and older) microchip, and spay/neuter.
