How It Works
Complete an application
Tell us all about you! Give us information about your home, lifestyle, and any resident pets so we can match you with a foster that fits best.
Hear back from our team
After submitting your application, expect to hear back from our team with 48 hours with next steps and potential foster matches.
Take home a foster pet!
When you’re ready, or when a great fit enters our program, we’ll help you coordinate picking up your new foster pet!
What supplies or experience do I need to foster?
We will provide all the essentials your foster needs to go home with you, including food and medication. As we receive donations of litter boxes, toys, crates, and other enrichment items, those will be available to our fosters as well!
No prior experience is necessary! We will train you on anything you need to know before taking your foster home. When you’re ready to start taking on new kinds of fosters, like tiny babies or medical cases, we will provide your training to care for them before you head home.
How long is the foster period?
It depends on the pet! The average foster stay is 2-4 weeks, but some pets only need a couple days or even an overnight stay. We’ll match you with a foster pet that needs a length of stay that works with your schedule, and you can always bring your foster pet back if it’s not a good fit.
What kind of pets need foster homes?
Every kind of pet you can think of! Healthy kittens, puppies, cats, dogs, and bunnies waiting for adoption, sick or injured animals who need a quiet space to recover, and everything in between. Let our matchmaking do the work for you in finding the best foster for you!
What if I have pets or kids at home?
Plenty of pets in need of foster would love a resident dog or cat at home to mentor them, and lots of pets love our tiny humans! We will help find a foster that’s a good fit for your pets and kids at home as well.
